My passion is helping new parents thrive and build confidence in themselves and their bodies. Above all, I believe in empowering families to take control of their experience—giving women the tools to become active participants in their care.
Birth is just one part of the entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey that shapes you into the parent you’re becoming.
You don’t have to go through this journey alone, and you don’t have to be a passive passenger while things happen to you.
Having a midwife means being supported in every decision you make, educated about your options, and connected to a community that nurtures you as you grow.
With a background in natural medicine, I'm currently working towards becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. My goal is to open a community clinic that supports our families in raising their babies holistically, offering care that nurtures both health and well-being.
As a midwife and a mother in this community, I feel truly grateful to be a part of this journey with you. It's a privilege to walk alongside you as we bring new life into the world together.
I am a natural-minded mom who loves teas and the remedies you can find in your kitchen,
hiking and books, along with cooking for my family and getting dirt on my hands in the garden with my kids. I believe in attachment parenting, free range kids, and the importance of nurturing our children’s individual spirits.

I have five kiddos of my own.
All born with their own individual experiences. One born in the hospital, Three in birth centers, one at home.

Student Midwife Lacey Dowlearn
Lacey Dowlearn is a Birth Boot Camp certified Childbirth Educator and Certified Birth Doula serving Austin and Round Rock families. She is also a certified k-6 teacher with a degree from WGU in Elementary Educational Studies. Working with women and children has honed her skills for patience and understanding in difficult situations.
Lacey’s journey in birth work began in 2007 with the first pregnancy in her group of friends. She had mentioned wanting a midwife and Lacey started researching! Lacey had caught the birth bug and was hooked! The idea of women helping women made her heart happy. Over the years, Lacey has had the opportunity to be an apprentice midwife at several freestanding birth centers; labor support for homebirth, birth center and hospital clients in Dallas, Austin and Round Rock, is working on a postpartum doula certification.
Lacey has been married to her partner, Danny, since April 2008. He has supported her through this journey and is a great partner. Lacey is a mom to two beautiful girls, Annie (15) and Jane (13). Both of Lacey’s births took place in her home accompanied by a midwife, her very first midwifery preceptor. Lacey breastfed both of her babies for 2 years, tandem for 6 months. That was such a wonderful and bonding experience. Lacey’s children are in Scouts and in band. She has a Life Scout and a 2nd Class Scout. Lacey’s older daughter plays sax in the marching band and bassoon in concert band. They are a busy family, always on the go!
Lacey wants to provide the best care to each mother who trusts her with their birth experience, whether that be in a birth center or at home. Lacey believes that having a positive birth experience is the right of every woman. Lacey will strive to help each mother and baby have an amazing delivery.
